US Ambassador opens Women’s Processing Facility

The SFC Team participated in the recent Ribbon Cutting Event in the Kumbungu District. The US Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Stephanie S. Sullivan,was in attendance to celebrate the opening a new Shea Butter warehouse and processing centre.

The facility which was funded by the US government through the USAID; is a partnership between the women’s co-operative, Perfectly Posh, Global Shea Alliance, Savannah Fruits Company and Presbyterian Agricultural Services.

Rapheal Gonzalez, Managing Director of Savannah Fruits Company assured of his company’s readiness to buy the hand-crafted shea butter, therefore helping to create a more sustainable livelihood for the women and their communities.
